I have never really been obsessed with polka dots even as a child but I must say, styling it can be quite simple.
Growing up, I remember when Disney introduced its cartoon darling 'Minnie Mouse' wearing a red polka dot dress and a matching bow. I found it really cute and to me that's how I see polka dots.
The word "polka" itself derives from the Polish for "Polish woman". In Czech, it translates to "little woman or girl". Polka dots are inherently diminutive, automatically feminine.
Today, there is definitely a nostalgia associated with Polka Dot that remind you of the 50s & 60s when you wear it.
With Polka dot I feel it can be worn in all seasons. I personally love wearing certain patterns(especially polka dot) in the summer because during summer, I'm in high spirits. The basking sun heightens my mood. Exposure to sunlight is thought to increase the brain's release of hormone called serotonin(5HT). Serotonin in associated with boosting one's mood and helps a person feel calm and focused.
Due to plunging neckline of the wrap blouse, I decided to pair it with the ruffled pants to give it that Caribbean flair to rep my islanders.
My accessories were just simple but elegant to portray a luxury look but for less (dripping in Finesse) 😂
